WHAT IS UNIVERSAL DONOR?

        In an emergency situation where a patient blood type is unknown, type O negative blood is the only safe blood type that can be donated to such patient because O negative Blood type is compatible with all blood type, O negative is known as universal donor.      
       Blood type O negative is a special blood type due to the fact that it lack antigen, it won't trigger an immune response, even if the recipient has a different blood type, O negative type is in high demand in hospital. 
           WHAT IS ANTIGENS?
   Antigens are proteins content found on the surface of Red blood cells, blood type O negative is the only blood type without antigens.
      Blood type A contain A Antigens, Blood type B contain B Antigens, blood type AB has both A and B antigen but blood type O has neither.
    In addition to the aforementioned, A and B  Antigens blood is classified by the presence of the RH factor, blood type with the RH Factor are considered RH positive while those without RH factor are considered RH negative.
