What is the Rhesus Factor? Rhesus Factor is the protein content that can be located on the surface of red blood cells. If your blood cells has this protein content you are RH positive but if your blood cell lack this protein content it means you are RH negative. RH status is defined by the positive or negative part of your blood type such as O+ or A-. During pregnancy problem may occur if the mother and fetus has Incompatible RH factor. The Rhesus Factor is inherited, meaning it can pass from parent to child through genes, the fetus can inherit RH factor from any of the parents, and if the fetus didn't inherit Rhesus Factor from any of the parents, automatically the fetus is RH negative.
